The Green Party in Shropshire

This website covers the activities of the Green Party in the beautiful county of Shropshire, which is comprised of two party groups: South Shropshire and Mid & North Shropshire. We are affiliated to the Green Party of England and Wales and also the West Midlands Regional Green Party. We are committed to raising awareness of the Green Party and its policies, believing them to be vital to the long-term sustainability of life on our planet. To this end, we campaign locally on many issues and aim to stand candidates for election to local councils, Westminster and the European Parliament.

The Green Party is not just 'Green'

Some people think that the Green Party is only concerned with the environment. This is incorrect. Global warming is the biggest threat facing our planet but, in order to address it, we believe we need new ways of thinking about the economy, education, health, taxes and the other everyday issues that affect us. We feel that our lives can be improved and enriched through the introduction of new strategies which tackle the social and environmental difficulties we face.

The Green Party's policies emphasise "quality of life", ahead of standard of living and endless economic growth. Therefore, our focus is upon people's needs, rather than abstract economic figures. Contrary to what some people may have us believe, we can improve our lives and save the planet at the same time. The Green Party has the determination and dedication to make this happen.
